Elizabeth Cato MD
is responsible for utilization management administration of medical services for Evolent Health. She monitors the effectiveness of medical services, coordinates medical policy and ensures quality management of medical issues. Dr Cato has served as an Aesthetic Medical Director for over eleven years. She is currently Medical Director of Cavi Medspa in Nashville’s own Germantown. Dr Cato has served as a medical director since 1997. In her last two positions she served as Chief Medical
Officer. Her duties have included the oversight of an independent physician association, utilization management, case management, quality review, network development, policy preparation and strategic
planning. She has extensive experience with Commercial insurance plans, Medicare, Medicaid, and Qualified Health Plans under the Affordable Care Act. She has been extensively published on topics of cardiac electrophysiology, as well as rheumatic and other autoimmune disorders. Dr Cato received her medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 1992. She
completed her residency program in Internal Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston Texas in 1995. She was a private practitioner with Heritage Medical Associates in Nashville for ten years. Her
Health Plan experiences include HealthSpring, United, Windsor/Sterling, Community Health Alliance and Consumers’ Choice Health Plan.
Before completing her medical degree, she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Cumberland University and attended the Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University. Dr Cato resides in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr Cato has an intense interest in forensic anthropology. She frequently studies at the University of Tennessee Forensic Anthropology Center, also known as “The Body Farm”. Dr Cato is currently on the Advisory Board of the Pet Community Center in Nashville TN, and is a Patron of the Nashville Symphony and Second Harvest Food Bank. She is an active supporter of multiple charities in the Middle Tennessee area such as the Nashville Rescue Mission, The Tennessee State Museum, Nashville Cares, The Belcourt Theatre, The Park Center, The Community Resource Center, The Salvation Army, Fifty Forward, TJ Martell Foundation, Music Health Alliance, Nashville Children’s Alliance, St Jude’s Research Hospital, and Gilda’s Club.
